How we work

Marketing assisted living in Wisconsin

What does the Wisconsin market look like?

The CDC’s 2020 National Post-acute and Long-term Care Study estimated about 1,400 residential care communities in Wisconsin with roughly 44,200 licensed beds, an average of about 31 beds each. Families compare small adult family homes, CBRFs, and apartment-style communities side by side.

Each setting needs to explain itself. A site that shows what living there is actually like, and a Google profile that wins the town searches, is how you stand out. See websites.

How does Wisconsin regulate assisted living?

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services oversees several assisted living settings. Community-based residential facilities (CBRFs) house five or more unrelated people with room and board, supervision, and support services, and must be licensed. Residential care apartment complexes (RCACs) are independent apartments for five or more adults with up to 28 hours a week of services, and must be registered or certified. Adult family homes serve one to four adults.

Families do not know these acronyms. We use the state’s terms where they matter and plain words everywhere else.

Does Wisconsin Medicaid pay for assisted living?

It depends on the setting. DHS says whether a setting is licensed, certified, or registered affects what Medicaid funding is allowed. For example, a registered RCAC may serve only private pay tenants, while a certified RCAC may also serve tenants with public funding, including Medicaid waiver reimbursement.

If you accept Medicaid waiver residents, a clear page saying so brings in families who are told no elsewhere. See lead handling.

Questions from Wisconsin operators

Do you work with Wisconsin communities from Denver?

Yes. Everything we do runs remotely: the website, ads, SEO, Google Business Profile, and the calls to families. See how it works.

Do you work with adult family homes?

Yes. We work with small homes and with larger communities. Small homes often get the best return from local SEO and a strong Google profile.

Should a CBRF and an RCAC market differently?

Usually, yes. They serve different needs, so families search for them differently. We build pages and ads for each setting.

Do you guarantee more inquiries?

We don’t promise a specific number of leads, tours, rankings, or move-ins. We report honestly on every lead, tour, and move-in.
