The CDC’s 2020 National Post-acute and Long-term Care Study estimated about 760 residential care communities in Ohio with roughly 60,700 licensed beds, an average of about 80 beds each, one of the highest averages in the country. Large buildings need a steady flow of tours to stay full.
That makes a predictable lead flow the goal: paid ads for the searches that convert, SEO for the town names around each building, and a team that calls every inquiry. See lead handling.
The Ohio Department of Health licenses assisted living as residential care facilities (RCFs) under Chapter 3721 of the Ohio Revised Code and Chapter 3701-16 of the Ohio Administrative Code. ODH inspects each RCF unannounced at least once every 9 to 15 months.
An RCF can elect to provide limited skilled nursing care, such as supervising special diets and applying dressings. If you do, families and discharge planners want to know, so say it on your site in the state’s terms.
It can, through the Assisted Living Medicaid Waiver Program, run by the Ohio Department of Aging. An RCF must hold a current ODH license and be certified by the Department of Aging, for the basic service or for basic service and memory care. The waiver service does not include housing or meals.
Ohio’s rules require a certified provider to show on its website whether it is certified and whether it is accepting new waiver residents. We build that into your site so families get a clear answer before they call.
