Learn moreLots of small providers. The CDC’s 2020 National Post-acute and Long-term Care Study estimated about 1,600 residential care communities in Arizona with roughly 37,900 licensed beds, an average of about 24 beds each. Many are small homes competing with large centers for the same searches.
A small home cannot outspend a center on ads, but it can win the map results and the town-name searches with a strong Google Business Profile and a website that shows what living there is actually like. See websites.
The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) licenses assisted living facilities. Under A.R.S. 36-401, an assisted living home has ten or fewer residents and an assisted living center has eleven or more. Each facility is licensed for a level of service: supervisory care, personal care, or directed care. Directed care serves people who cannot recognize danger, summon help, express needs, or make basic care decisions.
Families who need directed care are searching for exactly that. Your site and ads should name your license level in the state’s terms so the right families find you and the wrong-fit calls drop off.
It can, through the Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS), part of AHCCCS, the state Medicaid agency. ALTCS can cover services in assisted living for eligible members who are elderly or physically disabled and need long-term care. Room and board is not covered.
If you accept ALTCS residents, a plain page explaining it, and a team that answers those calls quickly, brings in families who are often told no elsewhere. See lead handling.
